Whoops, botched a quiz thing which was made for forums, not LJ, so I'll make a post instead. I should probably go back to finishing my summer reading now.

So I got one of them Wii's for christmas, and so far it's lived up to my expectations. That is to say, my family hogged it for all of yesterday, which kept me from Zelda until late last night when they all got tired. Wii Sports is amazing, however. It's a new feeling when you get beat by your six-year-old cousin, your aunt, your sister, and your mom at a game(which in my case, was bowling). However, I still managed to find my niche in tennis, where I managed to out do my entire family by beating them all in a shutout. Golf stays true to its roots, being the most time consuming game on the list. It managed to get away from the timing and power bars of older golf games, which I liked. Boxing is the best workout out of them, though. A few rounds of that and I was sweating, a few more and I was slightly out of breath.
It's also amazing how close you can get to yourself on the Mii creator. I'm still amazed how similar the Mii my brother made is to him, as with my sister and mom. The Mii parade is still a bit of a mystery to me, so I'm leaving out a review of that. Most of the interactive Mii features are too hard to figure out, such as traveling and other things. Though that may be due to the fact that I only have 2 people on my friends list. Once I get a whole bunch of them, it'll get more fun, I hope.
My thoughts on the Wii browser are pretty negative. The fact that you have to zoom in to read anything is pretty annoying, and the load time's slower than I'd like. Typing's also a bitch, so I don't think I'll be making an LJ entry from it any time soon. Over all, I didn't really like it.
The weather channel is pretty fun to play with, but I don't think I'll be wasting much time with it, but the globe was fun. I enjoyed the fact you could check the weather in a million different places much faster than you could on this internet.
My comments on the News Channel will be added as soon as I can make it work.
Twilight Princess. I'm stunned at the beauty of the game, both in gameplay and in graphics. It was well worth the wait to be able to swing your remote like a sword to beat bosses, and aim your slingshot with the remote. The aiming feature is a major step up from the earlier systems, where you had to estimate where it would shoot. I'm not even on the second dungeon, and yet I already think it'll be better than OoT. This game is definitely a hit.
Oh yeah. My friend code is 8595-9764-5017-0543. If you add me, make sure to comment with yours so I can do the same.

Porbe spug
Dear Santa...
Dear Santa,
This year I've been busy!
Last Thursday I caught a purse-snatcher who stole _iddi_'s purse (30 points). Last month I put gum in crimsonspaz's hair (-12 points). In September I donated bone marrow to fyberoptic in a life-saving procedure (300 points). In November I punched spug in the arm (-10 points). In October I signed my organ donor card (28 points).
Overall, I've been nice (336 points). For Christmas I deserve a red Radio-Flyer wagon!
Sincerely, buzdar |

Near Death Experiance
You know, it's really true what they say about your life flashing before your eyes when you're about to die. All I can say is that the flash is really bright. The reason I say this is because I pretty much almost sufficated to death during Football practice earlier today. I've been sick the last few days with a nasty cough. Now, during practice this cough creeped up on me, but that didn't really cause the suffocation thing. What caused it was the Asthma that I thought had vanished with my childhood (by that I mean when I was 9). Now, since I haven't had an Asthma attack in 7 years or so, maybe a little more than 7, I stopped carrying my inhaler around with me years ago.
Well, we were hitting the sled during practice, and everyone kept yelling at me to do it right, because since I had kept screwing up, we all had to do the drill again (OH GOD SO MANY COMMAS). Well, the combination of being sick and the stress brought on a nasty Asthma attack. And I don't just mean a tight chest. I mean my chest was so tight I made wheezing noises every time I took a breath. I could have sworn I was going to die. There was no way my Mom could get to school in time to get me my inhaler, and nobody else had one on them (who would?). So I just got on a knee and calmed down, since it was really the stress that triggered it, and it went away. Thank God it did, because I know that another minute or two of it and I wouldn't have been able to breathe anymore. In the end, I made it out fine, but I'm still a little shaken up about it all. No way in hell I'm leaving my inhaler at home tomorrow.

So I just got back from seeing Fearless. All I can say is that it's an amazing movie. Jet Li is an amazing actor, and the movie made me cry in parts.
Anywho, with that out of the way, I guess I should note that I've kind of neglected my journal, so I hope to make more posts. *watches as he forgets about journal completely and never posts for months*

Wordplay
Comment on this entry and I will give you a letter. Write ten words beginning with that letter in your LJ, including an explanation what the word means to you and why, and then pass out letters to those who want to play along.
I was given the letter "O" by 0skylark0.
Old - Something I wish I was so I could drink. Orc - Because everybody loves those barbaric green guys. Outlaw Star - My favorite Anime of all time. Every time I watch it it's as good as the first time I did. Oreo - I love them so, especially when they're drowned in milk. Credit goes to Bluejay for this one. Original - I'm really in to original versions of games. I'm known as "The Old-Schooler" at school because all I play are NES and SNES ROMs at school. Orion - It's my favorite constellation, what can I say. Omastar - I chose it the first time I played through Pokémon. Even if he's the weaker of the two prehistoric pokémon, he's still my favorite. OSX - The OS I run on my computer. Ph34r t3h m4c. Orz - We are all *happy campers*, right? Opera - I blame Fyber for convincing me to switch over from Firefox. You should all download Opera 9 beta2, it's pretty stable ( I haven't had it crash once).

RAGE
Topic #1: Too much work to handle The end of the school year is coming up fast, and many of my teachers are scrambling to get in last minute material and projects. I've currently got 3 projects due, with one that my teacher's gonna let me turn in late tomorrow. We have at least 4 more tests before Finals come around. Even the seniors at my school are feeling it. Almost all of them were at school working on Senior Ditch Day, because they had too many fucking projects. I've got another project due tomorrow, and another due next Tuesday that's gonna take up my entire weekend.
I hope my teachers enjoy grading all of the shit they're assigning, because I know I'll be laughing when they have to scramble in to get them graded before finals.
Topic #2: Computer problems My computer's been wonky for the past few months, after I dropped it and messed up the joint between the screen and the computer itself. Of course, every time I close it the joint pops up and I have to push it back in so that it doesn't look like shit. Recently though, the bottom of joint's began cracking from the stress it's getting when it's loose.
I've got an iBook, and the screen's attached by a joint, not directly on the computer. This means that when I open it the screen's loose, and the broken piece that's supposed to hold half of the screen on the joint is just hanging there, taking more weight than it should. The border around the screen's also become unattached right above the broken connector, so the screen just hangs there. It's hard to explain, and if I were putting pictures in here, I'd do that with captions instead of this.
Also, I discovered another problem with it in school today. When I hold it from one of the corners, the computer bends a little and the hardware gets weird, so whenever I pick up the computer with one hand on one corner of it, the system crashes and I have to restart. I can't wait until school's out and I can send it in for repairs.

So Nintendo pulled another game out of their hat at the last minute today, a THIRD Super Smash Brothers. IGN has an article on it that I'll link to here. It's just sheer madness. I'm totally playing as Pit, being a Kid Icarus fan.
While I'm on the subject of E3, I'll bore you to tears with an angry rant about Sony's new decision for the PS3. They're going to give the Dualshock 3 a motion sensor. Another example of Sony ripping off Nintendo in all they do. The only thing I can see in the PS3 that's not ripping off Nintendo is the price. 600 fucking dollars for the full system, and 500 for the one without any features or capabilities. As far as I know, the Wii is going to be following Nintendo's tradition of $199 for the initial launch, though I could be wrong. I'll never buy a PS3 now. BIG DAMN TRUCK - Reggie

You know, I just realized. Football practice started last week again, and ever since I've been doing twice as well in school. I've actually been doing my homework, I've actually been studying, even paying attention in class every once and a while. I think just getting outside and actually doing something has jump started me back into activity. I'm not half asleep by the time lunch comes around either. Sports are godsend for me. Ice Tyger has returned from Real Life to plague us all as well. I mean that as a joke, because I for one was glad to run into him on FyBBS last night. Just for anyone who didn't see him in the chat yesterday, or doesn't hang around the Fychat.

The desert
So I was camping in the desert this weekend and realized how long it had been since I'd slept in a tent. The combination of school, internet, and personal stuff's really kept me indoors. It made me realize how much I'd missed it all, the air, the sounds, especially the night sky. Of course, nothing's completely fun when it comes to boy scouts. We went on a hike and the lazy fatass of the troop decided he was gonna hide behind a rock and then go back to camp before we'd gone too far, so we ended up freaking out and I got to go insane on him (I was the oldest kid there, so I was the "Senior Scout" of the trip. The kid in charge, if you will). Did I mention I got to go rock climbing up a flat rock wall?

Aftermath: I can finally relax and destress a bit now that my Grandfather's funeral's come and gone. He had a really beautiful funeral, and it was sort of like a family reunion. The reception/lunch afterwords was really fun, and we managed to get a picture of all the grandchildren together, all the children together, and the entire family together, cousins and all. I don't think anything like that will ever happen again.
New games: Recently I picked up this crazy game called Second Life. I can't really describe it very well because there's no one thing to describe. I can't put it in one specific genre because it isn't really any of them. It's up to the players as to what's in the game. For all of you who can't put 2 & 2 together, the players create the entire world, and what will be in it as well. Everything you own is made and programmed by some player out there. It's very interesting. Beware though, there's a heavy population of furries there, though they mostly keep to themselves. So try it out why don't you.
PS. You need a credit card or a cell phone to sign up, just so that they have something to bill you with if you wanna buy game dollars with earth dollars or get a premium accound which allows you to own land.
Next in line for reviews is Tales of Phantasia. I may not be very far in the game, but it's hella fun. It ain't nothing like Tales of Symphonia, but who gives a shit, it was the first. There's all sorts of stuff I haven't figured out yet, like the use of putting food in your food sack, but other than that I've figured out the controls and such. I suggest both this and Second Life to everyone who reads this.
